Physical Therapist - Outpatient / Hospital (Days)
We’re looking for a Physical Therapist to take on a full-time role with an area hospital in Tawas City, MI. Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or higher from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
- Active Physical Therapist license for the state of Michigan is required to start the position.
- BLS - Basic Life Support. Must be obtained within 1 month of hire. Highly preferred prior to start.
- Successful completion of affiliate-specific orientation and new hire competency prior to providing independent care.
- Experience in outpatient physical therapy. Some acute care coverage experience preferred.
- Ability to supervise Physical Therapist Assistants, aides, home health aides, and students per regulatory standards.
- Competency in Microsoft Windows and electronic documentation systems as required by the employer.
- Ability to perform medium physical demand duties: occasionally lift/carry up to 21–50 lbs, frequently 20 lbs, and routinely perform walking/standing/pushing/pulling tasks.
Benefits:
- Sign-on bonus: $20,000 with a 2-year commitment.

Schedule and Setting:
- Days. Typical hours: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM Monday–Thursday and 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM Friday.
- No weekends. No holidays.
- Primarily outpatient, with some acute care coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patient function using formal and informal tests to determine musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status.
- Develop, document, and update goal-specific treatment plans in coordination with the physician and interdisciplinary team.
- Provide treatment interventions and education for patients, families, and caregivers regarding pathology, prognosis, and home programs.
- Recommend adaptive and supportive equipment, coordinate orders with suppliers, and assist in equipment acquisition for patients.
- Document patient responses and maintain billing documentation in compliance with affiliate and regulatory requirements.
- Promote process improvement, participate in program development, and engage in community education to represent the service line.
- Function as case manager for assigned cases and demonstrate professional communication with internal and external customers.
Additional Requirements and Conditions:
- Ability to work where exposure to communicable diseases is possible and to use personal protective equipment correctly.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and affiliate information per policy.
- Mandatory annual OSHA training and compliance with affiliate exposure control and TB testing policies.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate problem solving, organizational skills, and regular predictable attendance.
